I’m Dev Jain,
a student,
an entrepreneur,
a footballer,
and a curious learner

I am writing to recognize Dev Amit Jain for his valuable contributions to GreenCity Bhavnagar. Over the past seven years, Dev has grown from a committed volunteer to taking on the role of Operating Head, becoming the youngest member of our core team. His leadership and dedication have played a key role in the success of many of our environmental initiatives.

One example of Dev’s leadership occurred during a plantation drive we organized in a local neighborhood. Many residents were initially hesitant to participate, as they were worried about how the saplings would be maintained over time. Dev took it upon himself to address these concerns by engaging directly with the community. He organized small gatherings, spoke to people one-on-one, and explained the long-term benefits of reforestation, not only for the environment but also for the local community. His approach helped build trust and encouraged more people to take part in the drive. By the end of the campaign, we had more volunteers than expected, and Dev even set up a system for regular follow-ups to ensure the trees were properly cared for after planting.

Dev has also been personally involved in many of our activities, having planted hundreds of trees himself. His hard work and dedication have been recognized at both state and national levels. Notably, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel acknowledged Dev as an important member of our team for his efforts in promoting environmental sustainability.

In addition to his contributions on the ground, Dev has shown a strong ability to guide and support new volunteers. He consistently takes the time to ensure that everyone feels included and understands their role in our initiatives. His hands-on leadership and willingness to work hard have been crucial in keeping our projects running smoothly and successfully.

Overall, Dev’s commitment to GreenCity Bhavnagar and his passion for the environment have made a lasting impact on both our organization and the community.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Dev Jain, who recently completed a four-week internship with us at Technocraft Industries, India Ltd. in Mumbai, working within the Corporate Finance team. During his time here, Dev showcased impressive initiative and an eagerness to learn, contributing significantly to our operations.

One instance that stands out is when Dev identified inefficiencies in our invoice management process. He proposed a method to better organize our expense tracking system and successfully streamlined the handling of invoices. His attention to detail allowed him to quickly verify and correct daily financial entries, ensuring our records were consistently accurate. By the end of his internship, he had improved the processing of a significant number of invoices and helped optimize tracking for our daily expenses, easing the workflow for our finance team.

Dev was also incredibly proactive in expanding his knowledge. Beyond his primary role, he often stayed late to sit with the finance team and observe more advanced financial analysis. He was always asking questions and actively participated in discussions on budgeting, cash flow management, and financial projections. What made him stand out further was his curiosity to explore other departments like marketing and operations. After finishing his tasks in finance, he would spend time observing and engaging with these teams, gaining a deeper understanding of how different parts of the business function together.

Dev’s dedication to learning and his ability to see beyond his assigned duties made him an asset during his time with us. His strong work ethic, combined with his eagerness to explore various business functions, will undoubtedly serve him well in his future career.

Dev was a great addition to this class so much so that I would place him in the top 10% of the class. Each day I noticed how Dev using his vision for the venture, began to explore his potential in the areas of planning, research, and collaboration with his team. Dev played a key role on this team handling the financial modeling. Dev’s team delivered a professional presentation that was very creative by adopting a strategy for a problematic waste product to be used for a positive solution for food manufacturing. Dev displayed the characteristics of becoming a successful entrepreneur and was impressed with his research knowledge and delivery of the content. I expect Dev to continue to excel in his academic endeavors.
